Belonging is the place where diversity lives, equity informs and inclusion guides.
The Three Pillars
I approach building belonging using three pillars.
I call them the 3 Cs: Connection. Community. Care.
Connection is the root, and so much of my work focuses on supporting meaningful connection.
When we connect, it helps us to build community.
And building community and connection allows us to care for each other.
These three Cs are at the root of this important work of building belonging; creating spaces where people are acknowledged and valued for who they are and what they bring.
The ABCs
The ABCs are also foundational to this work.
There are ABCs of Engagement, of Inclusion and of Connection.
In everything I do, I look to these ABCs to guide our work – to go deeper, understand more, and apply that learning to create positive change.
